TWO VENUES | ONE PRIVATE PROPERTY | SMITH LAKE, ALABAMA

Two Venues. One Private Lake. Unlimited Possibility.

The Barn at Smith Lake offers two completely distinct event venues, each extraordinary in its own right, each sitting on the same private 40-acre lakefront property. Book one for a ceremony and one for a reception. Run two events on the same day. Or use them together across an entire weekend — the way the property was designed to be experienced.

The Barn

The Barn — Grand Lakefront Event Venue

The Barn is the property's signature gathering space.

What was originally designed as a vaulted barn structure became something exceptional: a 5,500 square-foot indoor/outdoor venue with a fully glazed end wall that opens directly onto Cocktail Cove and Smith Lake. When the doors are open, the lake becomes the room.

Fully air-conditioned and heated, capable of holding 250 guests, equipped with two getting ready suites, five private restrooms, a full catering kitchen, high-speed internet, and flat-screen projection TVs — The Barn handles everything from a black-tie wedding reception to a company-wide strategy summit.

The Glass House

The Glass House — Boutique Lakeside Venue

Nominated for Worldwide House of The Year — Arch Daily

The Glass House is one of the most architecturally significant private event spaces in the Southeast. Designed by Christopher Architecture & Interiors and nominated for House of the Year by Arch Daily — the world's most-visited architectural website — it has been featured in multiple national architecture and lifestyle publications.

The property sits on a private lot completely surrounded by water on all sides. The fully glass-enclosed living room frames 360-degree views of Smith Lake, floods the interior with natural light, and creates the kind of setting that photographers travel specifically to capture. Five large outdoor areas make it ideal for ceremonies, cocktail hours, and intimate receptions of up to 40 guests.

Because The Barn and The Glass House are approximately 750 feet apart on the same private property, they can function as entirely independent venues on the same day — with separate staff, separate setups, and separate guest experiences. Common configurations include:

  • Rehearsal dinner at the Glass House Friday evening; wedding reception at The Barn Saturday
  • Ceremony on the Glass House lawn; cocktail hour at Cocktail Cove; reception in the Barn
  • Corporate general session in The Barn; leadership breakout at the Glass House
  • Two separate wedding celebrations on the same Saturday — each with full dedicated staffing
